Dave joined the agency in 1987 as a commercial salesman, became an owner and a Vice President when he bought into the business in 1994. On January 1, 2016, Dave became the 5th President of the company in its 102-year history, following in the footsteps of his brother Bob, father Jack, grandfather Clifford Carnahan, and great-grandfather Charlie Carnahan.

Dave earned his Associate’s Degree from Northwestern Michigan in Petroleum Technology and his Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University. Dave is a Licensed Michigan Property and Casualty Agent and holds the Certified Insurance Counselors Professional Designation. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Independent Agents, the Independent Agents and Brokers Association of America and is actively serving on several Boards of Directors and Committees of two Non-Profit organizations. Dave has been married to his wife, Mary, for 32 years and has three sons. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and being out-of-doors.
